Hi everyone! We have a wonderful rest of the week here in Clayton. We spent yesteday in Dandenong in the ICU and were able to collect enough data to complete our DUE. We had a very successful time and were with a wonderful pharmacist named Adeline. She was very well-respected by the other staff and was hilarious to boot! In the ICU with Adeline, we were able to present a patient to the attending and rounding team. There was a patient with increasing drowsiness that had progressed into a coma-like state and they wanted us to see if we could figure out if a drug was causing it. She was on too high of a dose of acyclovir due to her renal function and we found several case reports of acyclovir causing coma-like states that could be reversed in hours-days. We found out today that they decided to discontinue the drug and she WOKE UP within hours! They seemed really impressed about what we found and even if the acyclovir wasn't the main culprit, it did help. Thank goodness for our drug information skills! :) We laughed when one of the pharmacists said Crike! I have only heard Steve Irwin say that and thus assumed it was only said by crocodile-hunters! :)
Paula and I discovered the motherload of Chinese Discount stores last night (like a Dollar Store or Big Lots). Have you ever tried to serve pizza or cook a sandwich on the stove without a spatula? We have been living without spatulas, with small plates, no baking pan, no bowls, and have only had plastic utensils to use! We found several wonderful items and can now adequately cook in the kitchen! We had a feast of Chicken and Bacon Schnitzel, salad, and applesauce! We were also able to take the French girls to the store (they had not been there yet!).
Today we worked on our DUE, Clinical Trial review, and booked our trip to Tasmania for next weekend. Tonight is dinner with the director, Ian, and his wife, and this weekend we travel to Melbourne for a football match and some sightseeing.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend! :)

Wow! I'm a little behind, but all your stories sound awesome! I wish I were seeing it all with you guys. Thanks for being an avid blogger; it makes things way more fun when people get to experience things through your eyes. Way to represent on the clinical intervention, and I know you girls are making us look good over here! Have fun and do everything that I would!
